Sun Poker Summary

Sun Poker has a high player volume during European evenings. It also provides for some extremely loose games. Sun Poker (as with most other Cryptologic rooms) offers very generous bonuses to its players (including frequent reload bonus opportunities). Other poker rooms on the same network (Cryptologic) include William Hill and InterPoker.

SunPoker has now made it easier for players from the UK and all of Europe to play at their online poker tables. The long awaited British Pound (£) cashier is now available to SunPoker.com players, aptly named SunPoker.com (GBP). Customers are now able to play their favorite poker games without having to worry about exchange rates.

Full Review

The most players are active during primetime for Europeans which is about noon until 7pm ET. The stakes in the limit games range from $0.25/$0.5 to £150/£300. Pot limit and no limit games range from $.50/$1 to £40/£80. In Hold'em there is almost always a game at whatever limit you want to play. Omaha and Stud games are much harder to find.

Cryptologic offers some of the softest games in the online poker industry. Especially the No Limit Hold'em games are filled with players that virtually give their money away. The standard of the players are worse at the "pound"-tables. Even though the rake is higher at these tables, at least at high limits, you are often able to earn more money there. You don't really have to play a fancy game. A tight and solid strategy is often enough to beat most of the players. There are enough players that pay you off when you have a good hand.

Sun Poker and other skins in the Cryptologic group are great for those looking for monthly reload bonuses. Many online pros play every one of these skins to take advantage of these great offers. All of the names in this group have a great reputation from either being a big sports book or big casino.

Rake Info

Sun Poker has a "no flop no drop" policy. If a pot doesn't reach the flop, no rake is deducted. Sun Poker's rake is 5% for pot limit and no limit games. In Limit games the rake is $.25 per $5 up to $3. These are the same increments if you play in U.S. Dollars, Pounds or Euros. The rake is capped at $3 at all tables except in $25/$50 NL where the max rake is $5. As you work your way up in limits you are better off playing in U.S. Dollars. The reason for this is that a game that rakes 3 Euros is almost 4 U.S. dollars and 3 Pounds is nearly 4 U.S. dollars.

Sun Poker and the other Cryptologic skins have recently lowered the rake for shorthanded games.
