Carbon Poker Rakeback - 30% Rake Back
New poker room!
Carbon Poker Summary
Carbon Poker is on the new and growing Merge Gaming network - one of the few networks that still allow U.S. players, so it's building a player base rather quickly. Game selection is very good, with more obscure poker variations like Badugi, Five-Card Stud and Razz offered along with the basic Hold'em, Omaha and Stud games. Promotions are also generally great and the software is quite playable, with a stylish and friendly feel overall.

Full Review
One of the newer players on the online poker scene, Carbon Poker (along with PokerNordica) is on the Merge Gaming Network - one of just a few poker networks that currently accept U.S. players. Because of that, players can expect to find decent player volume despite it being such a new site.
One of the other surprising things a player will find at Carbon Poker is a fairly massive game selection, with Texas Hold'em, Seven-Card Stud Hi and Hi-Lo, Omaha Hi and Hi-Lo, Razz, Five-Card Stud, Five-Card Draw, Triple Draw and Badugi all offered. Texas Hold'em and Omaha are the dominant games offered in tournament form, but you can still find a few tournaments running in Badugi and Draw poker.
The games at Carbon Poker tend to be on the looser side, with lots of rookies taking their first shot at online poker. The loosest tables tend to be at the low and micro stakes, but the more unusual games can also be very profitable.
The traffic volume is rising quickly on the network and the amount of active players is increasing daily. Real-money player statistics as of September 2007 show 450 ring-game players at peak hours and 2,000 tournament players at peak hours.
The software is also quite playable, and has a nice "boutique" feel to it - something missing at some of the larger poker sites
Rake Info
The rake policy at Carbon Poker is on par with the industry, raking up to 5% of the pot but never over $3. The rake generally ranges from $0.50 to the maximum $3 depending on the number of players at a table.
Basically, the rake comes out to about a penny for every 20¢ in a pot. Carbon Poker also has a "no flop, no drop" policy, meaning no rake is taken from a pot that doesn't make it to the flop. All pretty standard stuff.
